California trip #2

Dolores F. Kowalski
1923-2009

We made another trip to California but this time for a funeral. Alan's grandma, at the age of 86, passed away due to diabetes complications. We had been there for Alan's grandpa's funeral within the past year as well. While it was a sad occasion it was also a time to celebrate their lives and to gather with family we don't get to see often enough.

Luke with Uncle Brian for the first time. Brian has a fear of baby puke and had avoided holding his nephew up until then. He didn't even throw up.

Luke decided to start standing for the first time, only a few weeks after crawling. We had to do even more baby proofing when we got home.

Crawling

On our trip to California Luke decided to start crawling! Up until this point he had been rolling and a kind of army crawl with his arms. He had even started getting up on his hands and knees, and rocking back and forth. Well, we were staying with my dad and he had two things we don't carpet and grass. Well, we do have grass, it's just wet or snowy 9 months of the year! I'm not sure when babies start to crawl normally, but it seems like 6 months old is early. Needless to say we had to baby proof like crazy when we got home.

Got it!
What a busy couple of months! We kicked off the first few days of the year with a trip to southern California for Chris (Alan's brother) and Erin's wedding. Luke got to meet his Aunt and Uncles from that side of the family. He had his first plane ride which I'm happy to report went smoothly.

Luke Getting ready to meet everyone.

Luke had just cut two teeth, so he was excited to try them out on everything and everyone. Grandma Patti seems to be enjoying this too much!
