Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving was very relaxing, just what we needed. It was the first day in several months that me, Luke, and Alan were home all day together! I didn't even think about school. We didn't do anything particularly exciting. I cooked, Alan watched football, and Luke ran around getting into trouble. It was nice. My mom (and Dave) came over for dinner and we all stuffed ourselves. We'll be eating leftovers for 3 weeks! So, here's what I'm thankful for this year:

-Healthy family- doesn't need much explanation but my grandma has had all sorts of health issues this year and Alan's Aunt what diagnosed with breast cancer. As of now they are both doing well.

-Alan and I are both employed. Especially in today's economy, job security isn't what it once was. We are lucky to have jobs that provide a stable income. I'm thankful that I'm able to do some homework at work and that my job isn't 1/10th as stressful as my last job.

- Luke. It goes without saying that he brings us so much joy but, I feel the need to reflect on how lucky we are to have happy healthy baby (I guess he's not so much a baby anymore).

Random Pictures

As usual, we're super busy. I have less than 3 weeks of school left!!! And suddenly our babysitter totally flaked on us.... so now I have to find a new one. It is really hard to find someone local, inexpensive, that you really trust. It would be great if a relative would move near us (drop what ever is going on in their lives) and babysit for free... any takers?

Luke found the kitty sleeping in his bed and *tried* to climb in. It seems to be one of the only places motors is safe. Luke loves him a little too hard.

October fun

This month has just flown by. My class this quarter is kickin my butt. I've never worked so hard for a bad grade! Hopefully it will get better. Only 5 more weeks until winter break :) We did find some time to go to a corn maze with my mom. I loaded the pictures to the computer but now I can't find them.... think it has something to do with Alan putting windows 7 on the computer. Anywho, when I find them I'll add them. We did a 2nd pumpkin patch trip to get a few more pumpkins (the first one was out).

We love this particular pumpkin patch. It's a 15 minute beautiful back-roads drive along a river. They have a huge corn maze and tons of different pumpkins.

He had enough of the wagon after 2 minutes.

Luke was very into sticking his hands on anything gross/dirty/rotting. He's splashing the gross water in this wheel barrel.

Luke was a skunk again. The costume was super big on him last year and I spent way too much on the darn thing, so... we reused it. Luke kind of understood the whole trick-or-treating thing. He liked to knock on doors and get candy from strangers but then he wanted to go inside the houses (eek!). It rained the entire time. Luke didn't seem to notice. He did however enjoy splashing in puddles. Child was soaked by the end of the night.

The back... Luke called himself a kitty.

Alan in his costume (an ostrich rangler, duh!.). I'm not going to lie... I was a little embarrassed for him. But he wore it with pride. Parents that saw him were either confused or cracking up.

After trick-or treating... wet, cold, tired. I guess I understand why parents take their kids to the mall to trick-or-treat but it's just not the same. There is just something fun about walking outside at night and getting to see all of your neighbors that you just don't get from a mall.
